== Additional Info == *Prolonged (even as much as 10 days or so) systemic administration of adrenosteroids (e.g. prednisone, hydrocortisone, etc) in sufficient doses suppresses adrenal function. Manifestations of that suppression will not show up until either the exogenous steroids are stopped (or greatly reduced) or the patient becomes more physiologically stressed (needing more adrenosteroids than they're being administered). So technically this IS considered to be drug-induced adrenal suppression, but it should only be coded when -- due to a sequence of events as outlined -- it becomes clinically evident. == Alternate ICD10s to consider coding instead or in addition == *Hormone or hormone agonist drug, adverse effect *Adrenal insufficiency, primary (Addison's disease) *Adrenal insufficiency, severe (Adrenal crisis, Addisonian crisis) *Adrenal insufficiency, NOS *Endocrine disorder, NOS == Candidate Combined ICD10 codes == == Related CCI Codes == Data Integrity Check List == Related Articles == Related Articles ICD10 footer EndPlaceHolder
