*If patients belong to A,B,D or H the data collector responsible for the service will collect on the non-teaching side.If the patients are under other services(ie.neuro, oncology, rehab, etc) we do not collect data on them unless they get transferred to A,D,B or H medicine ward were data is being collected.

*Here is an example of another exception to the rule-Pt originally admitted to D4, transferred to H4H and remained under D med. Now made non-teaching and transferred to H733. It appears the pt is still under D med. This pt should be re-addmitted to D4 with a new log number. Then enter a move to H7( 5 mins later than admit time--[[User:FLindell|FLindell]] 15:40, 17 December 2010

Subject: non teaching patients from the 7 th floor

The non teaching side of the 7th floor is closing for renovations. All of the patients are moving to H4. They will be scattered throughout the ward. From a data collection stand point I need to know  a few things.

1. If a patient is a A,B,D service patient and being followed by a data collector from that ward. When they come to H4 is it coded a move and the data collector continues to follow them.
1. If a patient is a A,H,D service patient or a patient that Pat Stein is following, when they come to H4 is it coded a '''move''' and that data collector continues to follow them.

2. What about patients on the 7th floor that we do not collect on. When they come to H4 is it a new admission to H4?

item 1. Correct
item 2 – Yes, the  nonteaching side from H7 should be a new admission but I have to think whether the location should be  H4 since H4 is a teaching unit.  In the report, we are separating the teaching and non-teaching units.  Trish, this should be asked to Dr Roberts.
