Drug Toxicity for Immunosuppressives
See Other overdose. Use 499-21 Other Overdose/Poisoning (old)- Accidental toxicity - other drugs (which include immunosuppressants, antibiotic or any other Accidental toxicity not on our code list.
If the medical problem related to immunosuppressives is more specific then you can use one of the following codes:
- 211-1 Thrombocytopenia - 2nd to (any) drug sensitivity or toxicity (includes chemo)
- 212-2 Pancytopenia - 2nd to chemotherapy
- 212-3 Pancytopenia - 2nd to chronic Immunosuppression

Discussion
- I have had e few patients with drug toxicity, specifically to immunosuppressives. This is not iatrogenic, nor an overdose, nor an allergic reaction. Do you think having a specific code for drug toxicity in the Poison Section would be of benefit? FLindell 17:06, 18 August 2008 (CDT)

- Speaking of drug toxicities this could also include antibiotics as well ie: vancomycin. MWaschuk 14:00, 21 August 2008 (CDT)
