HSC H6 is the only medicine ward in the Region at HSC that admits LTV, MD, AML, failure to wean patient, etc.

HSC H6 (H6) is available as an Admit-from / discharge-to entry.

Critical Care Collection

H6 is relevant in reporting Transfer Delay because it is reported separately, like IICU.

Critical Care doesn't use the Va1/2 entries, so there really is no ambiguity for them. However, it would be good to confirm that collectors all know that H6 should be reported separately from HW for LTV patients. Are collectors aware of this? Ttenbergen 14:00, 2014 August 25 (CDT)

Medicine Collection

Medicine also has Med Var 1 - Admit-from Ward and Med Var 2 - Discharge-to Ward entries for H6. This means that medicine collectors could enter a patient discharged to H6 in two ways:

  • discharge to = HW, Var2 = H6
  • discharge to = H6

I discussed this with Julie today and she said she takes both possibilities into account for Medicine reporting.

Future Consideration - Dispo field

This would be an example why we need the Dispo field (proposed) to track these things more uniformly.
