The "exclude" button hides records that have been vetted by a collector as something we don't need to collect in EPR Reports Integrator, Cognos Report Integrator, Cognos2 Service Starter, Cognos2 Unit Starter and Patient Viewer Tab Cognos ADT2.

When would a record be marked as excluded?

  • patient at a location that we include where only some of the patients are ours, but pt is not under our service
  • unit or service has a wrong time; enter the record into the profile, and then exclude the line in the Cognos listing so it doesn't clutter things.

Mistakes

If a record has been mistakenly excluded, use the "View exclusions" button to bring it back.

Workings of the "exclude" button

Service exclusion

Specific service/patient/time listings from Cognos can be excluded either from the Cognos2 Service Starter or the Services section of the Patient Viewer Tab Cognos ADT2.

If a service is excluded in any of these, that service interval will no longer show up in any of the Cognos or Cognos2 listings. So, if you e.g. can use the start of a service, but the end is inconsistent with other observations, then make sure you finish entering the start using the Cognos tools before you exclude the service to e.g. make it stop showing up in Cognos2 Ender.

Unit exclusion

Specific unit/patient/time listings from Cognos can be excluded either from the Cognos2 Unit Starter or the Units section of the Patient Viewer Tab Cognos ADT2.

If a unit is excluded in any of these, that unit interval will no longer show up in any of the Cognos or Cognos2 listings. So, if you e.g. can use the start of a unit, but the end is inconsistent with other observations, then make sure you finish entering the start using the Cognos tools before you exclude the unit to e.g. make it stop showing up in Cognos2 Unit Starter.
