ADL component scores
For each of the #ADL Components the individual component fields are stored as their full words rather than scores. s_ADLOptions table stores the corresponding scores used in the ADL score or the ALERT Scale as follows:
| Option | ADL_Score | ALERT_Score | Explanation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Major | 6 | 6 | major assistance |
| Minor | 3 | 3 | minor assistance |
| Unassisted | 1 | 0 | unassisted / independent |
Deviation from Katz's definition
This deviates from the original scoring in Katz' paper:
- they only used 2 options
- they assigned the higher score to the unassisted
Combined ADL Score
The ADL Score is the sum of points of all the six activities.
