Coding Instructions
This diagnosis should only be used when the primary reason for admission to unit is for non medical reason (failure to cope, social reasons etc.) Guidelines article: http://emedicine.medscape.com/article/2096163-overview
Purpose and Use
To allow collectors to enter an admit diagnosis for patients when there really isn't a regular dx to enter.
Legacy info
There has been discussion about having a way to code this regularly for as long as the medicine database has been around. Decided to finally add this because collectors from several sites said they had to enter work-around data that was not really true in order to be able to enter an admit diagnosis.
