This article describes how to obtain a child abuse registry check (CARC).

  • (must be current within 6 months)

To obtain a Child abuse registry check:

  1. Those living within Manitoba, go here],for information on how to obtain the CARC.
  2. Those living outside of Manitoba but in Canada: Most Provinces have a child registry check system. Canada does not have a National registry.
  3. Those living outside of Canada: here is a list of countries where a child abuse registry does NOT exist.
  • CARC must be submitted to employer within 4 weeks of start date of work.
  • May, 2013 - Please note, as WRHA policy requires the Vulnerable Sector Search (VSS) to be included in the Criminal Record Check and RCMP policy states that the VSS must be conducted by a local police agency.
