Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector search

  • October 2016 - The Winnipeg Police Service (WPS) has adopted an online web-based Criminal Records Check Process

To obtain a criminal record check:

  1. Those living within Manitoba:
    • Living in the City of Winnipeg: go the Winnipeg Police Service at 245 Smith Street
      • OR - apply online for the checks. For more information .go here
        • NOTE: The Winnipeg Police Service can only complete Vulnerable Sector Searches for residents of Winnipeg. If you reside outside Winnipeg, you must attend your local police agency to have the search completed. Vulnerable Sector Verification is used to determine the possible existence of a criminal record and/or a sexual offence conviction for which an individual has received a pardon. With recent changes made by the RCMP in this search, it will result in more individuals having to submit fingerprints to the RCMP National Repository of Criminal Records to complete the verification.
  2. Living outside of Winnipeg in Manitoba: go to your local police or to the RCMP
  3. Living outside of Manitoba in Canada: go to your local police or to the RCMP
  4. Living outside of Canada: follow the procedure from your Government

WRHA Employee

Each time a Winnipeg Health Region employee is required to provide a criminal record check, they must select the agency that requires the CRC as part of the online application process. The results will then be electronically transmitted to the e-mail address that was registered with the agency.

  • WRHA employee:
    • to find the correct agency:
      • type in Winnipeg Regional Health Authority. You will get a long list.
      • type in "corp" and select Corporate and Community.
