Data collector xxdc account for EPR
Data collectors need to log into the EPR with a special account, their username ending in xxdc (e.g. tostryzniukxxdc). The process of getting one of these accounts set up is documented in Setting up Regional EPR Access for Data Collectors.
Collectors should use this account exclusively for their data collection work, and not for ward or unit positions they may also have shifts for.
Background
Generally, EPR accounts are set up per site for where an employee works. For nurses, these accounts may need to be able to edit/write to certain parts of EPR. CCMDB data collectors don't need to edit, but can work at multiple sites,. Even if they work at one site, they may need to know details about a patient's admission at a previous site.
Because of this, data collectors use a separate account for data collection work. Unlike most site accounts, our EPR accounts are actually set up by the "acute care" group. The process of getting one of these accounts set up is documented in Setting up Regional EPR Access for Data Collectors.
Related issues and when staff leave
- there are extra steps for setting this up, see Hiring_a_New_Data_Collector#Other_forms_and_things
- Do we need to specially mention this in Processes required when a data collector leaves/retires?
