*...I tried to enter a boarding location on a patient by hitting the "make B loc" button, and nothing seemed to happen. I just visited the WIKI page on that now, and it does state that it still needs to added manually-I don't understand why there is an option to press this button at all then?

** The button should create a line with the date and time and the project pre-populated. You need to fill in the Item (ie location your ward or boarding ward), because I am not yet sure how I would extract that directly from the Cognos data, especially with all the special cases due to covid moves right now. I figured only having to change that dropdown, with the full story listed right below, would be easier than re-keying it manually. Now, if that button does not even generate the Boarding Loc line for you, that is a different matter and I would have to troubleshoot that.

* I feel like this tab has a lot of useful information, and functions that I am unaware of. We probably need to discuss this page more, so that we can figure out what the info on this page is supposed to tell us, and iron out the layout to make it more readable.

** Yes, it needs more work. I think the biggest part will be to decide which lines can be omitted. To start with, each line contains a snapshot of all data for the current entry. So, it re-iterates that the pt came from ED, and when they were accepted, even if the current line is there because there is a change in unit and the ED and service info is temporarily irrelevant. We could group this data differently to not re-iterate things like Visit Admit DtTm, but we sometimes have weird things like a service changing without a location changing, and the more I hide detail and make this pretty, the more likely weird scenarios like that will lead to a view that makes even less sense. I will work on something somewhat easier to look at. Ttenbergen 16:04, 2020 June 2 (CDT)}}

This article is about the Cognos ADT tab in Patient viewer. It is used as part of the Cognos Report Integrator to facilitate populating our dataset from the Cognos dataset.

The tab contains registry data elements as duplicated from the Patient viewer tab Dispo, a subform with the Boarding Loc subset of the Patient viewer tab Tmp and a subform with data from the Cognos EPR Report. It also contains the "Make B Loc" button.

Using the tab

On the bottom of the tab is a subform that contains data from the cognos report for the patient with that Chart number. Not all of that data will be relevant to the current admission, but some will. To populate our data set from the Cognos subform, click any of the light-blue fields to copy the data over, or click the "Make B Loc" button to make a Boarding Loc entry.

Improvements needed?

  • I already know the following:
    • At least some patients show duplicate lines in the Cognos list

  • My patients coming from ER have a different Accept DtTm on EPR Reports than what shows up in Cognos ADT. Cognos seems to use the same DtTm as Unit Start. Right now I'm changing it to what EPR Reports shows. --Jvelasco 13:13, 2020 June 12 (CDT)
    • I am looking into that now... Ttenbergen 10:15, 2020 June 17 (CDT)
