Patient viewer

The Patient Viewer is the form for editing patient data in the CCMDB.accdb. See components of this screen in Category:Patient Viewer.

To open the form do one of the following:

• click on the binoculars in front of a patient in the Patient List
• click the "Add Patient" button on the Patient List and enter a Patient_ID

Tab Order

This is the tab order that I had suggested:

tab order for the dispo page: serial #->chart #->last name->first name->phin-> notes->dob->sex->pt type->previous service->accept dt tm->service location->arrive dt tm->visit admit dt tm->previous location->pre-admit inpatient institution->pre-acute living situation->province->postal code->dispo dt tm->dispo->transfer ready dt tm

• applied the above with the following exceptions:
  • Serial number is not part of the tab order because it can't be edited in this form.
  • There is no clean way to tab from outside of the tabs to inside of the tabs, to a specific field, so I just set up the fields inside the Dispo tab to be in the suggested order.
  • included AcceptDtTm missing after AcceptDtTm
  • included TR_info_status after Transfer Ready DtTm

Questions:

• do we want a tab stop on the "*" buttons, or the + or - ones? OR any of the other buttons, like the set previous to pre-admit button? A tab stop is a field where a tab will take you. Fields or buttons can either be set to be “tab stops” or not, in which case you could tab forever and it would never get there.

new order not working for other sites

• This tab order makes no sense for those of us using a log book at HSC and then a chart once we are able to get it to enter from. The order tabs into things we don't know until we get our hands physically on a chart. What was wrong with the previous order?--CMarks 08:50, 2018 March 21 (CDT)
• Adjusting or changing our entries and orders of without discussion with all collectors is not very considerate. It is not unknown that at HSC our entries are challenging-and we are busiest site. I suggest all of these discussions should be brought forward at a meeting first to have appropriate collectors' opinions voiced. See Cons' entry above.--Llemoine 07:41, 2018 March 22 (CDT)

  • I usually try to seek consensus about these things but had been assured that the decision at the team meeting had been to implement this change. So, now, lets fix it, so rather than just complaining that this doesn't work for you, please propose a tab order that would work. Don't just tell me to go back to same old. • We did have a discussion about this at one of the staff meetings about two meetings back. The consensus at that time, was that nobody really cared what the tab order was. Tina specifically asked "does anyone object to changing the tab order", to what I suggested. No one spoke up. So Tina said o.k., I can change it. DPageNewton 15:15, 2018 March 22 (CDT)
• In addition to having the current tab order, it is a lot easier to tab from one field to another, rather than having to use a mouse to get from one field to another. DPageNewton 15:24, 2018 March 22 (CDT)

New order 2018-11-24

I just tried to finally do this and realized have no note on what that old tab order was. I know we discussed it back when we made this change. If anyone still has the order around, please put it here and I will change the order back to that.
