RottenLinks

Rotten links or link rot refers to links to URLs that no longer resolve to the intended page.

If you find a link on this wiki that no longer works as intended, please try to find the page's new destination. Also keep in mind that the move might go along with changes to the document and our instructions may need review because of that.

If a new version can't be found, it might be possible to link to the old document on https://web.archive.org/, and to update our wiki link to point there.

We have the mediawiki extension RottenLinks on the wiki that that checks for broken links, but we don't currently have a plan on how to respond to what it finds. See Special:RottenLinks and filter for "Show rotten links only".

False positives: Some links that are flagged as broken are false positives:

  • some external sites block the kind of automated access the tool uses, so the pages will appear broken to the tool even though the link works for humans on browsers
  • some links are to resources on the Shared Health Intranet and therefore not accessible to the wiki and so appear broken; we can exclude the domains that these are on from the RottenLinks check, but Tina needs to add them to a list on the server back-end, so let her know if any need to be added.

The page updates once a week on Saturday morning.
