  • STB CICU/ICCS Cardiac Surgery patients will have an Accept DtTm starting when the pt. equal to the Arrive DtTm in the ICU. If a Cardiac Surgery patient is accepted back to the ICU after they have already been transferred to the ward (CR4), then the accept time is when the ICU has agreed to take them to the ICU, and they are considered a boarded pt. from that time (TISS 28 will be required for the boarded time)
  • These pts are entered differently in other ways as well, see STB_CICU_Collection_Guide#Entering_of_patients_before_they_are_accepted

  • How are Service tmp entry entered for these, then? Do they also just start at arrive time? If the regular rules on that page are not followed it needs to link here as well. Ttenbergen 20:16, 2020 November 1 (CST)

Background

This is on a page of its own because it is relevant to several other topics, and this way it can just be linked.

As of Change to start collection at accept rather than arrive time, we simplified the Definition of a Critical Care Laptop Admission to start at Accept DtTm. The local collector pointed out that these patients often spend a long time on cardiac wards where we don't collect while under the cardiac service. If we used the same definition for this population as for other ICUs this would all need to be collected as boarded time, and we would essentially start collecting on cardiac wards as well.
