This article documents the scan-to-network functionality of our scanner. The main use for this is TISS28 Form Scanning using Teleform.

Instructions

On the scanner:

  1. put forms into scanner face up
  2. on scanner interface, click "Scan to Network"
  3. click "Scan to Network" a second time
  4. click "Scan it" button
  • When scanning done, it will say "scan successful"
    • With a message showing "Would you scan additional documents?"
    • click "No"

High volume scanning

We have observed that scanning more than ~10 pages at a time can lead to a smudge/line showing up in the scanned image, requiring re-scans. To avoid this:

  • scan no more than 10 pages per batch
  • nothing to do with over using the machine sometimes the smudge show up randomly in a batch, if I do the next batch no smudge or line.
  • Discussed with Pagasa to test scanning larger volume to make this smudge problem show up, but then giving the scanner ~15 minutes to cool down without cleaning it to test if this is really an overheating issue. Waiting to hear back. PTorres 09:49, 2019 February 11 (CST)
    • Pagasa confirms that this is an issue only with larger batches, and that the problem goes away on its own when the scanner has had time to cool down. When a larger batch is scanned, the first few pages are OK, and then the line starts to show up. Pagasa will follow up with the printer people at eHealth about this.

File locations

The scanner has been configured with an option labeled: Scan to Network. This option saves the file(s) to the following network share:

  • \\hsc1msfp0001.ad.wrha.mb.ca\intmed_CCMDB_ScanFolder

Currently the only users with access to this share are:
