Code this even if it is not being treated. <!-- in the old coding schema this was only coded if treated -->
The following came straight from the old [[Tachyarrythmias]] article. Do they still make sense in the case of fibrillation? Isn't that much more severe? Ttenbergen 22:41, 2017 November 11 (CST)
*AG -- I thought I already answered this.  ICD10 codes are diagnoses.  Not every diagnosis is TREATED.  Thus any prior requirement that to code an arrythmia it needs to be treated is NOT going to go forward in ICD10.  This isn't about ICD10 per se, but rather about the fact that it never made sense to insist that we'd only code a thing if it was treated.  While rare there are some good reasons not to treat tachyarrythmias, not the least of which is palliative status.  THUS TINA -- for any/all arrythmias that say the things below, please remove them.
**TT -- this may be a bigger issue than just arrythmias... did [https://ccmdb.kuality.ca/index.php?title=Special%3ASearch&search=treated&go=Go a search of the wiki for "treated"] and we have other dxs that also list a treatment requirement. Is this a broader problem? Ttenbergen 08:42, 2019 January 24 (CST)
*AG REPLY TO TT:  We should compile and look at the list of ICD10 diagnoses which require treatment to qualify.
