What is a service admission
Definition of a Medicine Laptop Admission and Definition of a Critical Care Laptop Admission depend on the concept of someone being admitted to a service. This page is about how we can cross-check a service admission in Cognos against EPR, and by extension about what it even means to "be under a service". This is mostly trivial for pts who arrive on one of our units, but has been more complicated for EMIPs/ECIPs.
It turns out that the definition of this was done through orders in the past, and sometimes what was just a consult might have been taken as a change in service. We asked collectors to validate that we capture everyone in the Cognos EPR Report, but collectors don't have rights to the "EPR ADT" that Chastity uses to validate what she exports, so we can't get them to look there.
The old definition is a slightly different concept from what is encoded in the service entry in EPR, which makes it impossible for you to cross-check if a patient’s EPR service didn’t make it into Cognos (which would be an error we need to fix with Chastity) vs they never went under the service
Services at STB don't correspond to Orders
