Definition of a Medicine Laptop Admission and Definition of a Critical Care Laptop Admission depend on the concept of someone being admitted to a service. This page is about how we can cross-check a service admission in Cognos against EPR, and by extension about what it even means to "be under a service". This is mostly trivial for pts who arrive on one of our units, but has been more complicated for EMIPs/ECIPs.

It turns out that the definition of this was done through orders in the past, and sometimes what was just a consult might have been taken as a change in service. We asked collectors to validate that we capture everyone in the Cognos EPR Report, but collectors don't have rights to the "EPR ADT" that Chastity uses to validate what she exports, so we can't get them to look there.

The old definition is a slightly different concept from what is encoded in the service entry in EPR, which makes it impossible for you to cross-check if a patient’s EPR service didn’t make it into Cognos (which would be an error we need to fix with Chastity) vs they never went under the service

Services at STB don't correspond to Orders

  • Allan discussed with someone at STB what should be entered for Service with STB mgr of admitting Chantal Plaetnik.
  • Confirmed with Allan that this is still in progress and should move forward today. Ttenbergen 09:46, 2020 November 26 (CST)
  • STB Med flagged various pts where Service in Cognos doesn't match with services in orders. There is still something going on here, and I don't know how to troubleshoot it. Ttenbergen 12:01, 2020 December 10 (CST)

There is a different page that deals with this, and its no longer an issue, TT needs to clean up.

"History" button in EPR

  • Service history information is available in EPR, but the data collector role doesn't have access to it. INC000004363742 was created to get access. As of 2020-11-25, this was put on hold by eHealth.
