Who has wireless that work on wards

  • SICU
  • Medical Records

Intermittent:

  • GF216

No wireless: (is this still true? - yes this is true--CMarks 14:34, 2016 December 5 (CST))

  • MICU/CCU/IICU/MR/Death desk/wards - No wireless since the change to EPR

Con

  • not available in Medical Records but access to a hard drive computer is always available for wiki,EPR,email.

VIC

  • able to access wireless on all wards S4/S5/N5/VMICU/MR/S3. Laptops required VIC Ehealth to enter all settings to get wireless.
    • Update November, 2016: Wifi signal strength can vary greatly on the 5th floor: slow to intermittent to no signal at all.
    • Access is also limited in the MICU-some days it works, others it is so slow that it is useless.

Oak

  • Wireless only available in ER.--Lpruden2 09:55, 2014 September 9 (CDT)

Gra

  • WRHA network is available in all locations
  • MTS Wifi hotspot is available at Tim Horton's

StB

  • Have wireless in all areas of the hospital except the Atrium. --LKolesar 07:22, 2014 July 7 (CDT)
    • Would access in the Atrium be helpful? If so I would ask eHealth about this. It might be a matter of the laptop defaulting to the wrong wireless in that area, I would not be surprised if wireless were actually available there. If you ask and get an answer please put it here. • There is no reason to have wireless in the atrium as this is not a clinical area.
  • We do not have wireless in the data offices either because they are not located within the hospital. Our offices are in the Education Building which is not a clinical area. --LKolesar 09:29, 2016 November 30 (CST)

Wireless setup

To use wireless networking, eHealth needs to do the following:

  • ensure that the laptop is added to the wireless networking list
  • ensure that the drivers are set up right

Both of this is done as part of Laptop Setup.
