The only time you need to enter a Hosp number code is when the ADMIT FROM is = to "X__" (out of city) or "Y__",(out of province or country).
For movement between Hospitals WITHIN the city, the Hosp number code is NOT required because it is self explanatory which hospital a patient came from.
V is VIC, K is Oak, etc.....but X or Y is not specific therefore we are using the MHSC hospital ID numbers to help us identify what hospital "X" refers to.  Y is ID only by province using Hosp number code of 100 to 900.

We used to apply HOSP code when patient moved between Hospitals' within the city.  Three years ago when Julie was working with the data, it was decided that it was redundant because ADMIT FROM code within the city was self explanatory.

In the Hospital Previous data entry field in the CCMDB.mdb registry screen, a number code must be entered if a patient is admitted from a hospital outside the city of Winnipeg.
<onlyinclude>The Hospital previous field contains the previous hospital for patients who were admitted from another hospital outside of Winnipeg. </onlyinclude>
*If a patients is marked as Admit From X* or Y*.
*X* indicates outside of city
*Y* indicates outside of province.
**Please use the hospital previous number codes as provided in the Access drop down list (S_HospitalCodes).
**There are codes for all Manitoba hospitals. If one appears to be missing, contact Trish Ostryzniuk to find out if a different one should be used or if a new one needs to be added to the list.
**In addition to the Manitoba hospital number codes there are codes that can be use for patient who are admitted from outside of the province, country or continent.

Possible values for the Hospital Previous field are stored in S_HospitalCodes.
The Hospital previous field contains the previous hospital for any patients who were admitted from another hospital outside of Winnipeg. The field name is abbreviated to Hospital Prev in the registry screen in CCMDB.accdb.
*NOTE: *On the Registry data collection screen this field is referred to as Hospital Prev, however the CCMDB.mdb table that it draws data from is called: S_HospitalCodes.

If a patients admitted from a hospital outside the city, province or country, a value needs to be entered into this field.

Admission from ER at other hospitals
* If a patient comes from another hospital for example from Gimli ER, then the pt goes to the ER at your hospital, and Medicine has accepted the patient as a direct admission- you put "admitted from XE". If the intention was to directly admit from the sending facility, then in the tmp file put in the move time to the ward. At the bottom of the tmp file put "parked in ER".
If a patient is admitted from another hospital's ER via ER at your hospital and Medicine has accepted the patient as a direct admission then enter a tmp entry as per instructions in ER Wait.
