The date and time formats for the Critical Care and Medicine Databasea are:
The Critical Care and Medicine Database uses different date and time formats throughout as work best for their context. The dates are stored internally in a format-independent way, so we can change this to suit us.

* '''month / day / year'''
== Date Format in CCMDB.accdb, front-end and other .mdbs ==
**Please be extra careful not to transpose month and day
* most places use yyyy-mm-dd, occasionally yy-mm-dd for short range dates;
*** we are changing these to use month names for the month to prevent confusion. Let me know if you find instances where the above is still used. Ttenbergen 19:09, 2012 December 9 (EST)
* [[Patient List]] uses yymmmdd HH:mm (ie spelled out month) for easier visual but longer field
* A 24-hr clock is used.

* '''HH:mm'''
== in file formats and other sortable lists ==
** on the 24 hour clock, use i.e. 00:01 – 23:59. Do not use 24:00 hrs
In sortable lists attempt to use yyyy-mm-dd (numerical month) with a 24-hr clock because it will sort right. Same applies for file names.
*** again if you find otherwise please let me know Ttenbergen 19:09, 2012 December 9 (EST)

== Date Format on the PCs ==
*Check with Julie, may be confusing formain office  because we are use to the Day /Mon/Yr.
This is unpredictable as eHealth can mess with centrally. Often it is mm-dd-yyyy with a 12-hr clock.
** The output will remain the same, this is just for the user interface the collectors use (ie CCMDB.mdb), so should not affect Julie. Having said that, I am happy with day mon year, but will use word for month to eliminate that source for confusion. Ttenbergen 11:39, 2012 December 10 (EST)
