The date and time formats for the Critical Care and Medicine Databasea are:
The Critical Care and Medicine Database uses different date and time formats throughout as work best for their context. The dates are stored internally in a format-independent way, so we can change this to suit us.

* '''month / day / year'''
== Date Format in CCMDB.accdb, front-end and other .mdbs ==
**Please be extra careful not to transpose month and day
* most places use yyyy-mm-dd, occasionally yy-mm-dd for short range dates;
* [[Patient List]] uses yymmmdd HH:mm (ie spelled out month) for easier visual but longer field
* A 24-hr clock is used.

* '''HH:mm'''
== in file formats and other sortable lists ==
** on the 24 hour clock, i.e. 00:01 – 23:59
In sortable lists attempt to use yyyy-mm-dd (numerical month) with a 24-hr clock because it will sort right. Same applies for file names.

This is unpredictable as eHealth can mess with centrally. Often it is mm-dd-yyyy with a 12-hr clock.
* I pulled this out of admit/discharge time because at least the data part also applies to DOB, and all of it also applies to tmp collections. Except maybe the midnight rule, but that's the next comment. [[User:Ttenbergen|Ttenbergen]] 09:37, 11 February 2009 (CST)

* when I grabbed this from admit and discharge, it had "0000 & 2400 is not acceptable". In the admit/discharge article it refers to using 23:59 for midnight exactly. Are there other places where that should be used? If not, then the midnight rule should be added here and removed from the admit/discharge.
