***This doesn't really answer my question. Dialysis is unique to the other codes, because it can be a chronic pre-admission issue. **** I think you would code [[Renal dialysis care, including dialysis itself]] for the long-standing problem and this code as an acquired for when it was done on your unit. Does that make more sense? * We used to have a special procedure for indicating if a renal transplant patient received dialysis post transplant under the tasks. If we are now only coding HD once, it will often be missed if the patient required HD post renal transplant. Discussed at AJTT: we agreed that we can't and won't do this and this is fine.
