This old DX code was used specific for hypothermia that was related to trauma such as, exposure to a chronic extreme cold environment such as winter or acute, such as a fall into cold water.
*this code is NOT applicable to hypothermia related to other medical causes such as hypothyroidism, septic shock, drugs or artificial cooling done for therapeutic reasons.
