* Discussion 2020-04:
** There is a code for this in full CCI but we decided not to add it
** Did you mean to make capsule ''endoscopy'' into Inspection, Exploration '''(non-endoscopic)'''? I can imagine why, but it’s counterintuitive so would benefit from explanation. When we made the endoscopic/non-endoscopic distinction, I seem to remember the intention was to be able to show when something was done in an endoscopy suite. I could also see data users using this as an indication of invasiveness. For example, would someone use the inspection non-endoscopic to code that they opened up the patient for surgery, had a look and gave up? We could declare this an exception, but it would not be very intuitive. Ttenbergen 10:26, 2020 April 3 (CDT)
Answer from Allan: Yes I did.  While the imaging abilities of capsule endoscopy is like that of regular endoscopy, it does not, in fact, use an endoscope.  Clearly this diagnostic intervention is also not a surgery.  It's unique and in its own category, but we don't want to make a new category for it, so non-endoscopic is probably best.
