This data is derived from our admit diagnoses.
APACHE II has its own with assigned weights that are used in a formula to predict risk of death (negative coefficient is associated with a good outcome, positive coefficient is associated with a bad outcome).

Where is the SAS program stored
Data Collectors are not collecting the APACHE II DX categories specifically. Our diagnostic codes have been mapped to the Apache diagnoses by Dr. Carla Chrusch with some help from Trish in 2003 then Kendiss Olafson with Julie in 2005.

Who came up with the mapping scheme
Our statistician has a for SAS to automate the code mapping.
Dr. Carla Chrush and Dr. Kendiss Olafson
