In CCI when an object like those listed above, including a mass or tumor is extracted, the location where the extraction has occured is documented but the actual type of object or mass which is extracted is not documented at all. *AG REPLY --- for some things it'll be quite clear, e.g. extraction of a tooth. HOWEVER, for resection/removal of a tumor or mass, "extraction" is the wrong item in CCI. Instead it should be one of these: [[Excision, Resection, partial]], [[Excision, Resection, total]], [[Excision, Resection, radical]]. This is now added to the text. In answer to the question of HOW somebody will know that the excision was of a neoplasm, the answer will be in the accompanying ICD10 code for the cancer.}}
