- I'm wondering how people are coding orthostatic hypotension? It seems some what common in the elderly causing falls and is sometimes treated with a steroid type of drug? Hypotension NYD is one option and peripheral neuropathy (the autonomic affects) is another possible code to use. What are you doing? (Judy)
- some of the responses I received were: orthostatic hypotension is coded as hypotnesion NYD or as syncope (Judy)
- Note From Dr. Kumar: I would not routinely code “distributive” shock as septic shock. I would code as “other” shock if we have such a code, otherwise Hypotension NYD (not due to shock or post op).Trish Ostryzniuk 18:21, 2012 June 11 (CDT)
