We discussed whether the comorbids should just be copied with the profile at the original profile copy, but they will usually not be entered yet at that time, so it would be the wrong point in the process. At a later point, since a "to" profile will always need to be identified, adding a button for this is really not feasible. Looks like manual copy and paste is the best way to do this.
* Is copying comorbids from one profile to the next something collectors actually do? If it is commonly done then we should just include it in the copier button, no sense keeping it manual. We didn't initially include this because we didn't want the risk of people copy/pasting uncritically. But if it's happening anyway, then maybe we should facilitate it. ** Yes, manual copying is convenient in instances where there are two (or sometimes more) incomplete profiles entered into a laptop for the same patient....after the first profile is completed, the comorbs can be then manually copied to another profile. (Pam)
*** That is an interesting point - I had wondered about making the comorb copying part of the original profile creation, but that would be the wrong time since they would not be complete yet. And I also don't think I can make a button to do the copying automatically, because there woudl also be a "to" and a "from", so the process would always be multi-step, by which point a manual copy-paste would be just as easy. Does that sound right or am I missing something? [[User:Ttenbergen|Ttenbergen]] 09:49, 2021 July 13 (CDT)
