This is an intensive care unit which specializes in cardiac surgery. Non surgical cases that are also admitted would include AV ECMO and VAD patients that have not had cardiac surgery. Mainly post op CABG and cardiac valve surgeries as well as ascending thoracic aortic aneurysm repairs. There are several ways to access the Asper building, the most frequently used being: 1) via tunnel access at campus south entrance and 2) skywalk from main hospital second floor via OR hallway (cannot reenter main hospital this route without keycard access)

The unit is referred to as ICCS in the boarding locations, however remains as CICU in the pre-admit inpatient, previous location & dispo fields on the profile home page.
