With the new changes to patient follow and having general MED and CC Service Loc is there any way to make this the default? So for us in GH Medicine our default would be GRA_MED? Or to have the specific units removed? [[User:Surbanski|Surbanski]] 08:00, 2020 October 22 (CDT)}}

The New Pt Serial helper form starts a new record in CCMDB.accdb. It is opened either by the "Add Patient with Serial Helper" button or the "+" button on the Cognos Admitter.

Instructions

Depending on how the form is opened and whether that process knows, the Service/Location may or may not be populated. The service location won't populate properly if the pt is an EMIP or in a Boarding Loc, since for these, there is no data in Cognos to match one of our Service/Location options.

The Pat ID/Serial number will be populated with the next higher number than the highest Pat ID/Serial number, independent of what Service/Location is chosen. See Facilitated Management of Serial numbers for the reasoning around this.
