* Some tasks could be captured in the procedures CCI section.  Do we really need a task section?  Who uses the task material, is it important to the medicine people who use our data?  Maybe, while we are making changes, we should ask them if they need the tasks, if they find this information important or not.  Just a thought.  --[[User:LKolesar|LKolesar]] 14:28, 2017 September 20 (CDT)

Revision as of 14:28, 20 September 2017

This article outlines how we will transition from the old diagnosis schema to ICD10 and CCI. Process has been in the works since at least 2016.

As of 18:59, 2017 September 16 (CDT), some of the discussion about this continues in Task Team Meeting - Rolling Agenda and Minutes.

Data

Diagnoses / ICD10

Diagnosis data will be stored in the L_ICD10 table. The codes will be provided by the s_ICD10 table.

Special consideration will need to be given to:

Procedures / CCI

Procedure data will be stored in the L_CCI table. The codes will be provided in the s_CCI table.

Special consideration will need to be given to:

Collection Interface

Patient viewer tab ICD10 will be added in Patient Viewer.

Need to address Facilitating diagnosis entries.

Documentation

Tina will import articles for each new DX onto the wiki. Where possible the new article will contain a link to the related old article(s). All will need to be reconciled with current diagnoses.

Conversion Considerations

Task Elements

  • What will we do with Category:Task Elements; they don't fit into ICD10/CCI (or do they)? emailed Allan. Ttenbergen 20:17, 2017 September 18 (CDT)
    • Leave them in the L_Dsx table. Rename tab to "Tasks"

Discussion

  • Some tasks could be captured in the procedures CCI section. Do we really need a task section? Who uses the task material, is it important to the medicine people who use our data? Maybe, while we are making changes, we should ask them if they need the tasks, if they find this information important or not. Just a thought. --LKolesar 14:28, 2017 September 20 (CDT)

Dx names in ICD10

Allan's table combines dx name and other information.

  • Take the extra info out of the dx name; add a column that says "important extra info", make wiki link more visible in ccmdb when that is the case.

ICD10 twin or triplet cross checks

  • Template:Discussion are any ICD10s always in pairs/triplets/etc? if we have column for this we can do cross-checks. Any other cross checks like that? Emailed Allan. Ttenbergen 20:29, 2017 September 18 (CDT)
    • Allan will review. Ttenbergen 15:51, 2017 September 19 (CDT)

CCI vs remaining manually collected labs

Category:Manually_collected_labs

  • Template:Discussion CCI - should we move the imaging labs collection in with this? Emailed Allan... Ttenbergen 19:51, 2017 September 18 (CDT)
    • Allan pointed out that the blood products etc also have procedures. Tina to send list. Ttenbergen 16:17, 2017 September 19 (CDT)

Procedure Location

  • Template:Discussion CCI, should we include a location of procedure? We keep discussing similar concepts and procedure on unit would have impact on workload. Emailed Allan. Ttenbergen 19:51, 2017 September 18 (CDT)
    • collecting where actually done: add a column for L_CCI to store drop-down for location. Ttenbergen 16:26, 2017 September 19 (CDT)
    • collection where can be done: All we will have for xcheck is: if from OR or PACU, must have at least 1 CCI. Ttenbergen 16:26, 2017 September 19 (CDT)

significant complications

optional dates for dx or px that isn't an acquired

  • Don't allow dates unless in acquired dx/px Ttenbergen 16:44, 2017 September 19 (CDT)

Charlson Comorbids

  • Charlson Comorbids... Allan will provide a table of which ICD10s contribute to which Charlson score. Ttenbergen 16:54, 2017 September 19 (CDT)

ICD10 / CCI Groupings for Reports

  • Sensible groupings for reports. Allan has listing, will consider what groupings are sensible. Tina will need to consider a data structure for them. Ttenbergen 17:11, 2017 September 19 (CDT)
