- (...). Male 30 admitted for DKA never been diagnosed as diabetic. New DM. So is it no comorbids or yes to comorbids. I chart no comorbids til next admission? Right or wrong? (Shirley?)
- I have had this clarified with Trish on more than one occasion. For new DM it does not go in the comorbids until the next hospital admission. If the patient isn't in diabetic ketoacidosis then we should use other endocrine to capture the new DM.
