Guidelines for coding sex and gender

Starting point only for now.

Should mention

• Past history, removal of organ NOS for hysterectomy if appropriate. We discussed whether removed testicles should be included in this; if so it needs to be added to that page as well
• Past history, removal of breast (mastectomy) if appropriate
• Sex field which needs to include a distinction to gender, and how we code if it changes over time
• Gender identity disorder and that we removed it and why

Gender should probably redirect here.

On an unrelated note, Gail mentioned some other code that we have inappropriately worded on our page but I didn't hear the details. Gail, could you comment? Ttenbergen 12:05, 2022 September 7 (CDT)
