We run scheduled tasks to make sure certain things happen regularly. For example:

Click on

  • Start Menu
  • Settings
  • Control Panel

  • Click the task you want to change
  • to disable task, e.g. going on vacation:
    • uncheck the "Enabled" checkbox and click OK
  • to see/change the schedule,
    • click the "Schedule" tab...

Vacation process

If you run a scheduled task on your computer while you are on vacation, the task may lock up the target application if something goes wrong. So, it's a good idea to hand the task over to someone else before you go. Book in your calendar to re-set to regular for upon return.

  • Hi Tina, Trish away Aug 2-18.13 and would like to hand these two task over to your desktop starting Thursday Aug 1. RSVP. -Trish Ostryzniuk 18:09, 2013 July 31 (CDT)
    • task moved to my desktop. meeting booked to move it back to Trish's on Aug 19. It can't stay on mine because it's a laptop that won't necessarily be at my desk, and because I am not here daily to check that things ran, so it needs to go back to a permanent location.
