Hospital previous

• A Hospital Previous number code must be entered if a patient is admitted from a hospital outside the city of Winnipeg.
• If a patients is marked as Admit From X* or Y*.
• X* indicates outside of city
• Y* indicates outside of province.
  • Please use the hospital previous number codes as provided on the PDA and in Access drop down lists. **There are codes for all Manitoba hospitals. If one appears to be missing, contact Trish Ostryzniuk to find out if a different one should be used or if a new one needs to be added to the list.
  • In addition to the Manitoba hospital number codes there are codes that can be use for patient who are admitted from outside of the province, country or continent.

Possible values for the Hospital Previous field are stored in S Hospitals.

Data integrity check on sending

• If you forget to enter a hospital previous code when X* or Y* are coded as "admit from", you will get an error message in ACCESS and will be unable to send your files the the regional server.

Legacy

Hospital Previous number codes for patient that moved between centers within the city of Winnipeg:

• Started at HSC early 1997.
• Stopped October 2003
• some folks continued to code intermittently after the stop date.
