Purpose
The Smart Pump Audit is a quality improvement initiative that records how the Colleague smart infusion pumps are used.
Specifically, the pumps have a "guardian" function that limits dosage and speed for many common drugs. Policy states that this feature is to be used. The guardian needs to be enabled and set every time an infusion is set up. The Smart Pump Audit checks how consistently this is done, and what are the reasons why it isn't done.
