*I just wanted to send out a query to ensure that all the data collectors are following the above rules that in the lab count 1 adult dose = 5 units of platelets. Is everyone doing it this way?  I think that some are not and perhaps we should change this rule to simplify  ie 1=1 would be easier --[[User:LKolesar|LKolesar]] 12:12, 2013 February 15 (EST)

Platelets are collected as part of the Lab Collection Process.

FOR LAB test COUNTING:

  • 1 adult dose count as 5 units in lab data
  • 2 adult doses count a 10 units in lab data

Platelets are counted in Labs tests line item 53 in TMSX Critical Care Database. See S_AllLabsTable_Ver2 for more information.
