  • Acute tracheostomy - has been place for less than 48 hours by admission
  • Chronic tracheostomy - has been in place for 48 hours or more by admission
    • We can put unlimited amounts of DX codes now. So if Chronic trach (one that has already been in place for more than 48 hrs) is present at admission, it should be part of the admit DX's one of the LAST ones.
