The fields Variable codes 1 to 6 were added to the database some time ago to track temporary study data. Since then, most of the fields have taken on permanent meaning. The meanings assigned to the fields are different for Critical Care and Medicine. This category explains contains the explanations of the variable codes for both Medicine and ICU.
Data Setup
The variable codes use two tables in CCMDB.mdb:
- s_VarNames: stores what label should be used in the patient viewer for the variable - this is needed since different programs use the vars differently
- S varOptions: stores the dropdown values available for a given program and location
