[[Stroke, NOS]] should only be used when it is not clear if the stroke was hemorrhagic or ischemic. If the actual type is known, then the appropriate code should be used, so also coding [[Stroke, NOS]] only adds ambiguity. So, we were hoping to have a [[cross check]] to prevent combined coding of [[Stroke, NOS]]. However: If you knew they had a hemorrhagic stroke, but they may or may not have also had an ischemic one, then the correct way to code would be to use [[Stroke, NOS]].
