| ****the purpose of this code in first place had to do with burn patients in that wounds due to burns are always debrided so that skin grafting can be done. The code was for either or because generally both are done for burns in ICU therefore it was lumped into one code. I like Judy's suggestion that 83700 should be strictly skin grafting and 763-23 is for wound debridement. How have staff been using this code (837) related to burns only or for other type wounds too? This would help determine if we can split it cleanly or not.
