Incl "Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI)".
* "Hi CICU has had 4 TAVI procedures done. These come from the cath lab not the OR and are under the surgeons and cardiology. TAVI stands for Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation. They do a vavuloplasty first and then implant the new valve sort of like a stent in an artery. The program will not let me admit them from the Cath Lab.The ward clerk put them comi;ng from the OR so I did not realize at first they were from the Cath Lab. I do not know if they will do many more as this is a new procedure they are trailing for patients they feel are to sick for a regular valve surgery and so far 2 of 4 have gone badly.Let me know your thoughts on how to capture this. Lois"

***This is a valvuloplasty and an aortic valve implantation done without open heart surgery but in the cath lab through a catheter.Perhaps a new dx could be included with the angio procedures which is what it is.Lois
