Please done forget to code if patient has Post Traumatic Quadriplegia as result of the above injuryData audit:  I see a fair number of profiles codes with C_Spine with cord injury, yet quadraplegia does not show up in coding until the patient had been transferred to second or third unit.  Will ask Tina if she thinks a check in ccmdb.mdb would help, so staff don't miss this. * How common would it be that this diagnosis would not be accompanied by quadriplegia? If it's 100%, then double-coding would be meaningless, and also confusing since we don't double-code other things that are always together. If it's less than 100% then it would need to be a soft-check. How common is the dx in the first place. Asking because this would take time to implement (once), and every check we add adds a little overhead to the check process every time a collector clicks the dx checkbox (it has to cycle through the code for all possible dxs, not just the one encountered...). We can talk to find out if we want to implement this considering those questions. Ttenbergen 20:56, 2014 April 23 (CDT)

Since Post Traumatic Quadriplegia may or may not result we can't do a data integrity check for it. Or I can't see how. If one is defined please post here and we can implement. Ttenbergen 22:06, 2014 April 30 (CDT)

*I may not include the quadraplegia when the trauma has so many other admits and it seems obvious that there is quadraplegia and that can be caught by the c-spine with cord injury code.--Jpeterson 08:00, 2014 April 24 (CDT)

Code Post Traumatic Quadriplegia if applicable.

It might take many of days to determine if pt is or is not QUAD with this injury however, if determined to be a QUAD what ever number of days after admission, then pt was likely QUAD at admission.

No data integrity checks

Since Post Traumatic Quadriplegia may or may not result we can't do a data integrity check for it. Or I can't see how. If one is defined please post here and we can implement. Ttenbergen 22:06, 2014 April 30 (CDT)
