The WBC field is used to collect a patient's White Blood Count level for APACHE II & MOST. Refer here for info on which value to use and how and when to collect this.
APACHE Missing Value Rule
- if not done or not available, record normal
- Normal WBC - international units as 4.5 to 11.0 x 109 cells per liter.
WBC for ICU - APACHE II
Select the WORST deviation from normal during the first 24 hours in ICU.
is recorded as a percentage, record per 1000 e.g. 10.0

- Select the value that is at or closest to the time that the medicine service physician accepts the patient to the medicine service.
