Template:Discussion File:Update001.gif 1. CONTACT LISTS:

  • The most current Contact information will only be updated on the WIKI & in the Global Email Address Book.
  • I will no longer be sending out any paper contact list. Please discard any out-of-dated information at your site. Further, please don't print this out so you don't end up with out-of-date information.
  • A second place to look up a the most current email address in the Global Address Book for your email however, this doesn’t tell you which ward a data collector is assigned to therefore the best place to look is the WIKI.
  • You can get also get to the above page from the MAIN PAGE on the WIKI. There is a Category in the table above called CONTACT.

File:Arrow.gif On the left side of this main page you will see "SEARCH". In here you can type in the data collectors name and find them on the WIKI. Even if you just type in the first name, you will be able to find what you are looking for. You can search for hospitals and wards as well, but keep in mind that the shortest term you can search for is 3 letters.

  • Also, you can LINK to an email address and send emails directly from the WIKI to any of the database program staff member who have “enabled” their profile “preference” to sent & receive email from WIKI. An email from the WIKI gets sent to their work email inbox and a copy to your inbox if you select that preference. This is a good idea to do, then you will have a copy of the email you sent from the WIKI.
  • FROM TINA*
  • Now that we are all set up with email addresses through the wiki I will have to disappoint you: you can’t use it to send any emails that contain any patient identifers such as name, chart, PHIN.
  • The wiki is outside the WRHA network. Because it facilitates the email, it gets to see what goes into the email. So, it must not be used for patient data. I realize this would have been very handy, so I am sorry that we can’t do it that way. Having said that, we might need to look into a better way for you to share some of this data. Thanks,

2. WIKI User Preferences Setting – enable receive email:

  • In order for someone who is list on WIKI as a member to send or receive emails from the WIKI, the user must set their "preference" to enable this.

Your WIKI preference is not set to allow this. You will need to set your preference so that you can receive emails from the WIKI. GO here for instruction: My Preferences in the wiki.

  • I have also attached a screenshot of the items you need to set in WIKI preferences (user profile tab) which enables you to receive emails through our WIKI. Setting WIKI Preferences.pdf
  • The following database program members are required to set their user preference to allow send & receive email from the WIKI:
  • Please attend to this ASAP. If you need assistance don’t hesitate to let me know. thanks!--TOstryzniuk 20:04, 28 January 2009 (CST)

    • Hi Trish, I was wondering if we could get an updated list of Data collectors at all sites, their email addresses and the wards they cover. I am trying you link a patient to HSC A4 from GGH N3 and sent a note to Margaret Lucyk and it was returned to me delivery status failure.Perhaps she's not covering that ward any longer. Thanks Sheila Dowson.

Organization of Information

For more information on using this wiki, see Communication via this wiki and Editing Tips.

To add a Discussion to any article see: Instruction. A discussion will automatically be added to the Questions category.

As this wiki is growing (now at 7,169 entries), the easiest way to find information is to use the "search" bar on the left side.

To see a list of recent changes, click on the "Recent Changes" link in the navigation panel on the left.

If you can not find information you are looking for, it might not have been added yet. In that case, make a new entry and add it to the Category:Questions category. There are instructions at that link on how to do this. Collectors are encouraged to keep an eye on that category and to answer or further qualify.

Concerns that people might miss important changes

One data collector was concerned that important changes like this (septicemia) might be missed if we rely on data collectors following the Recent Changes, and suggested email notification of important changes. Tina is worried that if there is notification of "important" changes, people will feel that it is not necessary to keep up to date with Recent Changes here on the Wiki. Upon discussion with the data collector, Tina found out that the problem was really one of lack of understanding how to use the Recent Changes. If everyone could review and follow the instructions in My Preferences in the wiki, then clicking on "diff" or "# changes" for the changed article, rather than the link for the article, one will actually see a Summary of the changes rather than just the new version of the article. This makes reviewing Recent Changes much easier! This was move to front page by TOstryzniuk 13:20, 8 January 2009 (CST)
