Hospital previous

A Hospital Previous code must be entered if a patient is admitted from a hospital outside of Winnipeg, i.e. if a patient is marked as admitted from X* or Y*. X* indicates outside of city, Y* indicates outside of province. Please use the hospital previous codes as provided on the PDA and in Access. There are codes for all Manitoba hospitals. If one appears to be missing, contact Trish Ostryzniuk to find out if a different one should be used or if a new one needs to be added to the list. In addition to the Manitoba hospital codes there are province/other codes for out of province patients.

Possible values for the Hospital Previous field are stored in S Hospitals.

Data integrity check on sending

If you do not enter a hospital previous code when X* or Y* are coded as admit-from you will get an error message in ACCESS and will be unable to send your files the the regional server.

Legacy

Hospitals within Winnipeg used to have hospital previous codes associated with them as follows. Use of these codes has been discontinued since ???. Started at HSC early 1997 and DC'd October 2003, though some folks continued code intermittently after the DC date. NOTE: ICU data collection went regional Sept 1998 at Grace & May/June 1999 other ICU sites.
