Discussion
- I don't think reverse-engineering code is a good idea. Most of these query requests have resulted in further questions, and in order to discuss them they need to be in English, not SAS or SQL. Also, writing them out in English will finally document what is being done. Only Julie knows what she intended with any individual query she wrote, so she would be in the best position to state what checks should be transferred into the Cleaner. I would suggest concentrating on checks that deal with individual patients for now, rather than checks that compare consecutive encounters, mostly because her implementation is probably more efficient at the latter, whereas ours will be slow at it until we are able to move to a different system.
