| | Locking the laptop to the desk is only about not loosing a laptop, not about the data security. Both the laptop and the card are encrypted, so if they were stolen we are OK. The reason we originally got people locks was so they can lock the laptop ''while on the unit'', e.g. when a collector walks off to get a chart. | *I do not have a laptop lock at the CON but was going to ask Tina if I could get one. The data office is a shared space or inner office. I lock the inner office door during the work day if the laptop is in the office. Both doors are always locked after hours. The outer door is only locked during the day if no one is in any of the inner offices. There are times when office mates forget to lock the inner door during the day; for this reason I would like a laptop lock (does not prevent the SD card from being removed??). Should we be locking our laptops in a drawer when sharing offices with other non-CCmdB staff? If the outer office is opened during work days then the laptop is only single locked whther we are there or not--does this meet the security requirements of the program?
