The AP Sys BP data input field records systolic BP.
- APACHE II - uses the MEAN BP to score points.
- for APACHE II - the worst Blood Pressure reading (SYSTOLIC/DIASTOLIC) that gives you the worst mean BP is recorded during the first 24 hours in the ICU.
- The BP items are separated here on the WIKI however, this does not mean that you pick a systolic value from one BP reading and a diastolic value from another BP reading when selecting worst BP for APACHE II.
- MOST - uses the SYSTOLIC BP value only to score points.
- for MOST - Value selected is one that is "closest to the time" the medicine service physician "accepts" the patient to the medicine service from the emergency department.
Data Integrity Rules
The AP Sys BP must be >=25 And <=360.
